day 89 - tron meets modern art ....

graffiti artist, eric haze, whose known for his street art

teams up with medicom on this latest creation

you have the electrifying lights shooting

from the back which strongly resembles tron

and you have the artistically graffiti'd body of a be@rbrick

what better way to sum this up then tron meets modern art ?

day 90 - twin peaks be@rbrick 100% | laura palma frozen blue part 1

90s hit show twin peaks was definitely short lived

but for the 80s babies they no doubt have a deep impression of this show

this HORROR be@rbrick was designed after laura palma,

whose character was what helped develop the story

i decided to shoot this be@rbrick in two parts

this is part 1 of my shoot where clearly we see that this be@rbirck

has turned blue just as laura palmer did after her mysterious murder

part 2 will reveal more.

so stay tuned !

this is one of the first collaboration between medicom and mattel

marking barbie's 50th anniversary.

when have we seen barbie look any sexier

than on a be@rbrick with a round lil beer belly... :P

equally just HORROR looking ...

it is then best to have the face remain a mystery...

day 85- the country of the sun of may

im sure most people cannot guess this is the Argentinean flag

i, myself had absolutely no idea what country this belonged to as well

but it does make great art !

day 84 - words of expression ... | ORE NO MIRYOKU

this is a SECRET piece within the series 14 collection

i cant stress enough how deep and expressive this design is

this is the perfect work of art

i ended up placing it behind a chinese paper

to bring out some of the hanji characters used in the japanese writing system

day 83 - st. patty's day meets easter

this SECRET Cute is also the product of lily franky

i placed it behind a few dandlillies which i bought as buds

the next day it had just bloomed

and i just threw it into the photo

which creates a great touch w/ her yellow shirt :)

conrad leach's work reminds me much of andy warhol's

they both dont ever fail to deliver and disappoint

leach has done it again

this time he applied his work of art and mastermind of creativity

to develop this ARTIST peace.

i have never particulary liked this be@rbrick

the color schemes completely throw it off for me

so i decided to shoot it in black and white

using this japanese hankerchief i got from a friend 6 yrs ago

as a backdrop.

i originally started this shoot with little to no motivation.

but little did i know the result was better than i had expected.

the colors on this be@rbrick reminded of an 80s party

this is the doing of renowned illustrator LILY FRANK.

for the backdrop of this be@rbrick i used the afro

of AFRO KEN since his afro resembles the same generation :)

day 77 - 3 of a kind | buster kun by THE PILLOWS

for any poker player 3 of a kind would be awesome

but for a collector

its almost a nightmare to open 3 blind boxes

of the same kind !!

but i certainly made the best use of it !

these shells don't belong to me

im completely violence free

but i have been meeting to do a photoshoot with them.

they did turn out great in the photos w/ my be@rbricks thats for sure

i thought it would be clever to see a ninja

carrying a piece of a weapon that we will never see in reality. :)

the artist to this remarkable piece

is manga artist, tesuo hara.

he is known for the series, fist of the north star.

he didnt fail to intrigue us this time

with this well designed, detailed be@rbrick.

such an ill themed be@rbrick for patterns so remarkable

this was actually in collaboration with Suicidal Tendenices

this be@rbrick pattern without a doubt

brought this chinese vase to mind

which we had safely kept in our display cases forever.

the patterns, colors, and contrast is simply beautiful !!

i think all the neon genesis evangelion be@rbricks rock

the patterns and designs are just amazing

and what better backdrop to fit this be@rbrick

its all about using materials you already have to your convenience :)

growing up i associate andy warhol

to that portrait of marilyn monroe.

in college i learned more about warhold

but it never absorbed.

it's simple. he isnt my generation.

this name just always came and go in my mind.

but after acquiring this be@rbrick

there is no way andy warhol will just be a shadow in my life.

his art lives....

even in vinyl street art.

i got this idea from months of listening to the greeks protest

all i can think bout are just lil men holding picket signs

trying to make a statement

when you're looking this cute

like this 100% animal be@rbrick designed by MJ

theres really no worries about no one listening to you :)

this is actually a really nice design

MJ who often designs Japanese cartoon and toys

finally gets to design designer vinyl with medicom be@rbrick.

its a good pair up for sure :)

day 60 - a brick through invention for be@rbricks'

i didnt foresee the outcome of this photo to be so gruesome

i took the two syringes that i normally use for my pet's meds

and placed it in my be@rbrick's arms....

i know this is more gruesome than what i normally post

hence, i really hesitated.

but the art on this vinyl is real awesome.

the details up close are amazing.

its just a little hard on the eyes

and perhaps a little disturbing to some.

but sometimes you just gotta be daring :)
