than i had originally projected

the time and energy exerted into this

has become immeasurable

coming up with new settings,

new lighting, positions, etc on a daily basis

has to be constant,

but the outcome and the satisfaction is remarkable

day 19 - this is camouflage....

chinese new years

i was enjoying lunch at starbux

when a frail looking lady walked by

her skin darkened by the sun

her hair whitened by age

her hand gripping tight to her plastic bag

she dragged her feet

looked through every trash can

disappointed at every empty search

i left my drink

returned to my car

popped the trunk

and pulled out 3 full bags of empty bottles

she was resting on the bench

exhausted by the search

and burnt out by the heat

she said xie xie

as i handed her my bags

i then realized she was Chinese

as i drove away

all i could think about was this lady

i turned my car around

but she was gone

on the biggest day of our lunar calender

she was collecting empty bottles

i-lobster

shelling .7 lb lobster

1.5 lb lobster

butter it up

cleaning it down w/ salt & lemon

soaking lobster tails in irish butter

in the george foreman for 4 mins

time for vegies ...

preparing asparagus....

fresh out of the grill...

dinner is served ....

we dine like kings...

i just realized how damn photogenic they are

ah... so good is life.

attitude

The longer I live,

the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me,

is more important than facts.

It is more important than the past,

the education, the money,

than circumstances, than failure, than successes,

than what other people think or say or do.

It is more important than appearance,

giftedness or skill.

It will make or break a company...

a church... a home.

The remarkable thing is

we have a choice everyday regarding

the attitude we will embrace for that day.

We cannot change our past...

we cannot change the fact

that people will act in a certain way.

We cannot change the inevitable.

The only thing we can do is

play on the one string we have,

and that is our attitude.

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me

and 90% of how I react to it.

And so it is with you...

we are in charge of our Attitudes.

i learned something new -
white lies,
little lies,
big lies
every lie -
cuts like a knife

ruthlessly. mercilessly.

i hid in fear.
i was kept in the dark.
i begged for the closure
no one thought i deserved.

finding out the truth
hurts twice as much.

ive been following this political piece since day one

and its been making my blood boil since

this april

4 years ago an old friend left his job in burbank
and ventured off to china to teach english

soon after losing communication with him
i too ended up in taiwan teaching english.

this person has always been in my thoughts
ive always wondered about his tracks and wellbeing.

the last time i saw him was 4 years ago
we had a conversation over a pitcher of beer
about what he coined emotional baggage.

this week he told me he is well,
returned a better person, and has moved on.

i was sincerely happy to hear that.
