this past week
i learned something new -
white lies,
little lies,
big lies
every lie -
cuts like a knife
ruthlessly. mercilessly.
i hid in fear.
i was kept in the dark.
i begged for the closure
no one thought i deserved.
finding out the truth
hurts twice as much.
the human heart
really hides a sword.
